How to tell a dead 12V from a dead pack

Run this check before you assume you’re out of charge.

Press Power and watch the cabin. Cluster, ambient lighting, and the center screen all stay off. The fob may not unlock, so the mechanical key blade is your way in. Hazards may not flash. You may get no lock clunk as you walk up. Those signs point at the 12V.

When an EV 12-volt dies on the road, the car can look finished even with range left. That’s the trap. The pack never got a chance to connect.

A different path looks louder. The dash lights. A high-voltage warning appears. Then everything dies. Don’t treat that as a simple jump. It needs a dealer scan.
